  • A carelessly spoken word or an overshare can lead to less than desirable results. The cost can be high—friendships, marriages, employment, peace of a community. Here’s the good news: the Bible is rich with “do’s and don’ts” when it comes to how we communicate. Let’s look to the scripture to better understand how dealing with people and situations in a sensitive way can bring glory to God. Scriptures: Proverbs 13:3; Romans 12:18; Nehemiah 2:4,16

  • If there is a secret to achieving great things in life it is hidden in the word diligence. Success is not cheap, that is why only a few can afford it. To succeed in anything that we do God has instructed us that diligence is required. Who are some of the biblical and modern day examples we can emulate and learn from when it comes to being diligent and successful? What does diligence look like and what can stop us from being diligent? Scripture: Proverbs 10:4, Ecclesiastes 9:10, Proverbs 12:24, Proverbs 22:29

  • Aware of His purpose, Jesus went about His earthly ministry with a sense of urgency. Our Heavenly Father has given each of us a unique purpose too, as well as talents to help us fulfill His purpose for us. But in a world full of distractions, it is easy to lose focus of the work that God has put in our hands to do. We need to be passionate, not lackluster, in the way we approach the calling of God on our lives. Scriptures: Luke 2:49, Matthew 22:21, Mark 12:17, Luke 20:24-25, Luke 19:13

  • Money is important to building any kingdom here on earth. Yet, the love of money is the root of all evil. One can only imagine what it cost to rebuild Jerusalem in Nehemiah’s time. The interesting thing is that he didn’t go seeking funds outside of the Jews. The future of the church depends on generations of believers understanding tithing. Does God really need our money to build His kingdom here on earth? What is the spiritual meaning behind tithing? How does tithing benefit us and God alike? The Word of God shows that God commands us to give tithe in the old testament under the dispensation of the law. However, the first man the Bible tells us gave a tithe, Abraham, lived before the time of the law. In Abraham’s encounter, he met a high priest by the name of Melchizedek whom Apostle Paul references in the new testament talking about the priesthood of Jesus Christ and the believer. What does Abraham’s encounter and our priesthood have to do with tithing? God’s wisdom is not of this world. Scripture: Hebrews 6:20, Hebrews 7, 1 Peter 2:9, Genesis 14:18-24, Nehemiah 10:38, Malachi 3:8-10,

  • We all have great intentions to fulfill our destiny and accomplish God’s goal for our lives. Many times, we talk about our goals and plans, we sometimes even write them down and plan them out, but we fail to take the action needed to accomplish those goals. We postpone our plans, we procrastinate, we are sometimes timid and so we keep delaying action on what God has called us to do. God has made available all the resources you need to accomplish his purpose for you. You only need to step out and begin building. There is no better time than now. Rise up and build. Scriptures: 2 Corinthians 6:2, Nehemiah 2; Ecclesiastes 9:10
